KANE U$A – DIRECTOR/DP/EDITOR (PRESIDENT OF STEREOMOTION ENT)
Kane U$A started his career playing in bands as a drummer by the age of 12. Who then went on to become a local favorite hip-hop DJ by the age of 17; performing in battles, deejaying basement parties,College partys, to Manhattan clubs.He then joined a hip-hop group called The Illest Flav as their DJ/producer and manager working closely with the Flavor Unit on the music and management of the group. As his music career was being shaped Kane u$a also attended film and media school in the heart of NYC graduating with awards in post production and directing.
Immediately after film school Kane started working as a production assistant and acting extra on a variety of hiphop music videos and films. Fortunately gaining incredible work experience in art dept, sound,camera crew, lighting and production.Working with the industries best directors for companies like. BIG DOG FILMS, HSI MEDIA,RADICAL MEDIA,GAS FOOD AND LODGING and more..
While working in the film and video business, Kane u$a continued with his music career by releasing his first single on Fondl Em Records in 1997 with the group Scienz of Life. He later signed with an indie label called Subverse Music and produced over a dozen tracks and 2 videos for the label. With groups like Bigg Juss, Scienz of Life, and Everliven Sound Set. While at the label he also helped direct/produce, edit
and shoot the documentary trailer for A B-Boydocuflikism2000, a 20 minute trailer on the elements and music of hip-hop culture. It went on to win a honorable mention at the 1st annual NYC hip-hop film festival.
For the next several years Kane worked as a freelance camera man and operator at several production houses and networks as CBS, MTV and BET where he eventually accepted a full-time position at BET's Nightly News Dept. Working with them for over 2 years as a camera operator ,editor and music supervisor. Kane soon transitioned into a full-time position at BET creative services department where his talent really begun to flourish and become recognized. His duties included ,directing, shooting and editing award winning conscious PSA campaigns for the network ,helping them bring home there first ever Emmy award. Other awards included. 5 Tellys awards ranging from editing to best cultural ad.The 2007 cable positive award for best PSAs..And directed the PSA’s for the EMMY AWARD Winning campaign Rap it up 2007 BET
Currently Kane is executive producing a indie music video show called HOTT SOUPP Video. HE is also brand consulting , producing directing, shooting and editing,
music videos, commercials, PSAs, webi-sodes, brand Id s ,pilot shows and documentaries.
